Shaper Simon Anderson returns to Surf Expo after 34 Years
Posted 08/20/2014

The Surfboard Agency presents their shapers tour with a cast of Australia’s best including Simon Anderson, Luke Short, Al Emery, Vampirate Surfboards, and Aloha Surfboards (Marcie O’Neill) September 4 – 10 (East Coast, USA) and September 11 – 14 (Biarritz, France).
Simon Anderson revolutionised surfboard design with the 1980 invention of the “thruster” which remains the industry standard. Throughout this tour Simon will be showcasing The Face Dancer and Spudster models built in the lighter, stronger more responsive XF Epoxy Technology.
“I wanted to be able to present a genuine epoxy product that is light and buoyant. Obviously it hasn’t been possible to do this domestically at affordable costs and I believe that there are surfers who will enjoy and appreciate having an epoxy lightweight extreme performance board in their quiver,” Simon Anderson says.
Vampirate Surfboards is the brainchild of Australian surfer Ozzie Wright and shaper Mark Gnech who also collaborate with Andrew ‘Droid’ Doheny to produce his increasingly popular Inflatable Mattress model.
“We’re looking forward to hitting the east coast USA and showing our Ozzie Wright and Andrew Doheny board models that are built for speed and fun.”
Al Emery previews models by his leading pro rider Adam Melling.Luke Short and his LSD shapes have long been at the forefront of high performance design.Aloha Surfboards at 30 years young continue to offer the Bean and Magic Mushroom models while breaking new ground with their fun and versatile addition for 2014, The Hamster.

About the Surfboard Agency:
With a combined 25 years of surf industry experience The Surfboard Agency was founded in 2013 by Daniel Flynn and Lachlan Keckwick with a business mission to provide the best value, best practise, surfboard supply service in the industry.
“I have previously worked in International Development for the surfboard industry and decided to implement a new business model to give retailers more margin, whereby we act as a broker between the shaper, the factory and the retail outlet. Retailers are an integral part of the surfboard industry and are often the first port of call for the consumer. Power to the retailer, I say!” Daniel says.
